My buddy Paul is a novelist. He's written some very fine books. But he says the publishing industry is hopeless when it comes to promoting them. In fact, he said that most book promo videos were crap. So he asked me to help out.
The idea that stuck wasn't too far from the insight: "most of 'em are crap." So we made book promos about how bad book promos can be. Even for an amazing novel like Paul's. Honestly, it's astounding. Buy one now on Amazon.
Directed by Can Misirlioglu, filmed at R/GA Studios, and starring a bunch of talented friend. All pitching not so good ideas. Except for Jeff Greenspan. His idea of releasing the whole novel as a series of tweets was kinda genius. He's annoying like that.

As a salve for my sanity during quarantine, I starting writing country songs about the pandemic. These are them.
Track 1. It ain’t easy looking for love in a pandemic, when every day you get less photogenic.
Track 2. A traveling tune about the pandemic. It’s time to stop kicking science around and get out of Covid Town.
Track 3. A rebel song about a redneck scientist. The pandemic has really got him pissed.
Track 4. One of those “she left me when I got Covid 19” songs.
Track 5. It’s a pandemic on the rocks. Drink up.
Track 6. For all those long-haulers out there delivering the vaccine. Yippee kai yay, mothertrucker.
Track 7. For everybody out there trying to find love in a lockdown. A duet with the lovely and talented Hattie McSpangles.
Track 8. Join me and my pals for a singalong pandemic drinking song.
He's only 19. And he's out of control. A tale about a young virus gone bad. Artwork by my brother, Jon.
Ho, ho, ho and a cheesy holiday song too. My Covid Cowboy mustache went missing on this one. If you see it anywhere, lemme know.
As a writer, I’m not asked to open up Adobe Creative Suite very often. But sometimes on the weekend I do, and pretend that I’m a designer.
This is logo for a group of pals, once described as “my lowbrow friends.” A badge of honor, surely. So far it’s appeared on coasters, playing cards, stickers, bicycle jerseys and beer koozies.
